CAROLE J. ADAMS

CAROLE is a professional facilitator. She works with individuals, couples and groups to integrate mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life, with a focus on awareness of "what is happening in the present moment" and "what is needed now." Carole teaches Facilitator Training along with Jeanne Robertson and John Pechacek. She loves teaching FT and other classes, as well as assisting couples and groups with relationships issues, and working with individuals seeking clarity and direction.
As a professional facilitator, Carole is a witness and observer of your process, and in doing so, creates a safe "container" to do delicate and sensitive personal work, both verbal and non-verbal. Her style and intention encourages you to be in the present moment, while still honoring your story and background. She never forces or persuades you to reveal any part of yourself or your issue beyond your personal boundary of safety and well-being.
Carole has over 12 years experience as a facilitator and trainer, and is a recent graduate of the 2-year training program in the Hakomi method of body-centered psychotherapy. She is a community minister, ordained by People House, and considers facilitation to be a sacred healing process for adults.
Private sessions with Carole are available evenings and weekends to accommodate your work schedule. Contact Carole at 303-274-0458.
More about the terms used above …
What is Facilitation?
Facilitation is a unique blend of listening and interacting that allows clarity and understanding to emerge from an individual or group. A facilitator listens generously and with compassion, and without judgment or bias. This allows a sacred inner wisdom to emerge to help solve an issue or clarify a problem.
What is Facilitator Training?
Both the 9-month course and the introductory course are for adults who wish to learn more about facilitation skills that can be put to practical use in their home and at work, and also to improve their relationships. Utilizing individual and group process sessions, students learn to pay attention to what is happening above and below the surface of consciousness. The courses incorporate both theory and experiential exercises, and include ample practice time. These skills are successfully used by parents, teachers, managers, therapists, ministers and many others, and help build strong, supportive communities in which to work and thrive.
What is Hakomi?
The Hakomi method allows hidden beliefs and unexpressed emotions to emerge within the safety of the private session. If emotions and beliefs stay hidden, they influence your life in ways that are unclear and unhealthy; whereas if you uncover core beliefs and experience emotions in a safe environment, you can make new choices which can lead to transformation.

Personal Sharing
I have gained a great deal of first-hand experience as a facilitator with my mother, aunt and many pets, helping them transition from life to death. I was very present and allowing of their dying experience, attending to their needs, supporting them emotionally, psychologically and physically – lovingly holding the space for their transition.
In addition, I have experienced a number of personal challenges in my life which I believe help me be compassionate and hopeful with others. Some of these include gall bladder disease, cancer, detached retina (2), broken leg, intestinal blockage surgery, knee displacement, ovary removal, menopause, trauma – rape (PTSD), clinical depression, divorce, and I was sexually molested as a child (age 12).
I am currently in therapy with a trauma/Hakomi specialist, because I always work on “my stuff” so that I can be present and available for others when I work with them. Years ago I was in therapy with Jungian analyst (5 years before the rape), and at Ending Violence Effectively (as a rape survivor).
I also enjoy and have benefited greatly from Restorative Yoga, acupuncture, Reiki and water exercise classes.
